"In All Things Christ" is our theme for 2010. This is a good time of the year
to evaluate the reality of this statment in your life.

God's Example
God gave us the example for missions. He "so loved the world,
that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but
have everlasting life." The church is to be missionary-minded and evangelistic in
spreading the Gospel into all the world. It is not the mission of the church
to "bring in the Kingdom," work for political or economic justice, major on
social improvement, or "Christianize" society. It is to strive together for
the faith of the Gospel, proclaim and maintain purity of doctrine and practice,
and worship and serve the Lord in "spirit and truth." (Matthew 28:16-20; Ephesians 4:11-16)
Our Goal
Since God has commanded us to preach the Gospel to all the world, all believers should
support missions with prayers and finances. We desire that all of our members have a heart
for missions and be willing to go wherever God leads them. First Baptist Church wants to keep
missions at the forefront of our ministry, endeavoring to create an atmosphere that encourages believers
to focus on missions.
Our Prayer
It is our prayer that God will send forth laborers into the harvest at home and abroad. We thank God when
He thrusts First Baptist Church members onto the mission field. All over the world people are dying without
ever even hearing the Gospel. Many missionaries are growing old. The harvest is plentiful.
Replacements are few. Please pray with us that believers will follow God's call to missions.
Our Giving
We practice Faith Promise Giving. We believe that all Christians should financially support
missionaries, and once a year, we have a mission emphasis and challenge our members
to promise by faith what they will give in the upcoming year. If Christians will give as God desires,
missionaries will not lack support.
